Sustainable Practices in Packaged Ice
We encourage our members to adopt practices that minimize waste, conserve water, and reduce energy consumption. Our efforts include:​

• Water Conservation: Packaged ice production relies heavily on water, and we are committed to using this vital resource efficiently. We encourage our members to invest in technology that recycles water used during production and to implement water-saving measures.
• Energy Efficiency: To reduce our carbon footprint, we promote the use of energy-efficient cooling and refrigeration systems. We also advocate for the adoption of renewable energy sources in ice manufacturing facilities.
• Sustainable Packaging: We are actively exploring ways to reduce the environmental impact of packaging by promoting the use of recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable materials. Our goal is to minimize plastic waste in landfills and contribute to a circular economy.

Supporting Sustainable Transportation

Our Sustainability Subcommittee works in collaboration with our industry partners, supplier members, governmental agencies, and environmental organizations to keep informed on regulatory changes and to stay abreast of broader environmental initiatives.
